Nine kilometres of sandy beach stretch along the Torremolinos coastline, divided into named sections. Playa La Carihuela, in front of the old fishermen's quarter, is the most atmospheric. Bajondillo and Playamar are the busiest, backed by a promenade full of chiringuito bars. Los Álamos, at the eastern end near the Málaga border, is generally quieter. Sun loungers are available for hire on all beaches and lifeguards are on duty in summer. The Aquapark Torremolinos, a short walk from the beach, is the biggest water park on the Costa del Sol and good for a half-day with children.
