Aqualand S'Arenal

Aqualand S'Arenal is one of the largest water parks in the Balearics, spread over several hectares just inland from the resort. It has been a fixture of the S'Arenal family holiday offer since the mid-1980s and remains the most-visited paid attraction in the area. The park has a full range of slides — the kamikaze near-vertical drops at the top end, lazy rivers and wave pools at the gentler end — along with children's zones for younger kids.

The park is open daily from late May to October, with entry typically around €30 for adults and €25 for children in high season; advance online booking is cheaper. It gets extremely busy in July and August. There is a shuttle bus connection from the main resort strip.

A story
Aqualand S'Arenal opened in 1986, making it one of the earliest water parks in Spain. It was built on what had been agricultural land on the Llucmajor side of the town boundary, chosen partly because the split jurisdiction — the resort straddles two municipalities — simplified planning permission at a time when coastal development rules were still being written.
