Club Nàutic S'Arenal

The Club Nàutic S'Arenal — also known in Spanish as Club Náutico El Arenal — sits at the southern end of the resort where the beach meets the marina. Founded in the 1950s, it is one of the main sailing clubs on the Bay of Palma, with a full marina, sailing school, and facilities for dinghies, keelboats, and windsurfing.

The club runs sailing courses for adults and children throughout the season, and hires out equipment. The marina is a pleasant place for a walk even if you have no nautical interest — the waterfront bar and restaurant looks out over the moored boats and the bay, and the views back toward Palma on a clear day extend to the cathedral on the horizon.

A story
The club has hosted the annual Copa del Rey de Vela regatta, one of the most prestigious sailing events in the Mediterranean, drawing world-class ocean racers to the bay. The combination of reliable summer winds and protected anchorage in the Bay of Palma has made this stretch of coast a fixture on the Mediterranean sailing circuit since the 1960s.
