Charco Manso is one of El Hierro’s natural bathing areas, where volcanic rock has shaped sheltered pools along an otherwise rough Atlantic coast. The setting is the attraction as much as the swim: black rock, clear water, blowholes, and waves breaking just beyond the safer basins.
Check sea conditions before getting in. On calm days it is a beautiful place for a dip and a picnic; when the ocean is running hard, it is better treated as a viewpoint and a reminder that El Hierro’s coast is not tame.
