Oasis Wildlife Fuerteventura is a large animal and botanical park near La Lajita, in the drier south of the island. It is not the reason most travelers come to Fuerteventura, but it gives families a substantial break from beaches, wind, and volcanic roads.
The better parts of a visit are the landscaped cactus gardens, shaded paths, and chances for children to see animals at close range. Treat it as a family-oriented day out rather than a wild nature experience, and check current animal displays and opening arrangements before making the drive.
