The Norrköping City Museum occupies one of the old factory buildings in the Industrilandskapet, telling the story of the city from its Viking-age origins through the industrial boom years to the present. The permanent collection covers the textile industry that made Norrköping prosperous — machinery, workers' tools, and social history are all represented — along with archaeological finds from the Bronze Age sites nearby.
The industrial heritage section is particularly good, with reconstructed factory interiors and recordings of former mill workers describing their working lives. Temporary exhibitions change regularly; check the museum website for current shows. Entry is free for children under 18; adult tickets are reasonably priced. The museum shop stocks quality books on Swedish industrial and cultural history.
