Visualiseringscenter C

Visualiseringscenter C is a science and technology museum built around a full-dome cinema, located in the old Holmen mill buildings in the Industrilandskapet. The museum is a collaboration between Linköping University, the city of Norrköping, and several research institutes, and explores how scientific data is turned into visual form.

The exhibitions cover topics from astronomy to medical imaging, with interactive displays and regular demonstrations. The dome shows are the main draw — programmes cover space exploration, natural history, and scientific phenomena in immersive 360-degree format. Shows run throughout the day; tickets should be bought in advance during school holidays. The museum is particularly good for children and is one of the reasons Norrköping is worth a stay rather than a day trip.

A story
The dome cinema at Visualiseringscenter C uses a system of 8 overlapping projectors to cover a full hemispherical screen 13 metres in diameter. Films can simulate conditions inside a tornado, at the edge of a galaxy, or deep inside a living cell — it is one of only a handful of such installations in Scandinavia.
