Nottingham's headline attraction is its castle — or rather the network of sandstone caves beneath it, which are more interesting than the building above. The Lace Market is worth an afternoon on its own, and the city's connection to the Robin Hood legend gives even sceptical visitors a reason to seek out a few historic corners.
