Parade Gardens

A small, pretty park along the south bank of the River Avon, just below the city centre. The main draw is the view: from the garden you look across the river to Pulteney Bridge and the weir, one of Bath's most photographed scenes. There are well-kept flower beds, benches, and a cafe serving decent coffee and cake.

There is a small entrance fee in summer (free in winter), which keeps the gardens pleasantly uncrowded compared to the free parks elsewhere in the city. It is a good spot to sit with a book on a sunny afternoon or to eat a takeaway lunch. The lawns are sometimes used for concerts and outdoor events in the warmer months.
