Leeds has one of the liveliest bar scenes in northern England, fuelled by its large student population and a city centre packed with converted warehouses and Victorian buildings. Call Lane and the Merrion Street area are the main nightlife strips, but you will find good drinking spots scattered through the centre and along the waterfront. The scene ranges from craft beer taprooms to cocktail bars to old-fashioned pubs.
