Vulcan is a small farming town on the prairie road between Calgary and Lethbridge. It would be an ordinary grain-country stop if not for one useful accident: the town shares its name with Spock's home planet, and it has leaned into that with cheerful commitment.
The result is one of Alberta's stranger day trips. The Starship FX6-1995-A stands by Highway 23, the Vulcan Tourism and Trek Station looks like a small space base, and the town has Star Trek signs, murals, events, and a bronze Spock bust downtown.
Vulcan is not a deep destination, and that is part of the point. Come for the joke, stay long enough to see how thoroughly the town has made the joke its civic identity, then add the local museum if you want a more grounded look at prairie life.
