Edgemont Village

Edgemont Village is the small affluent neighbourhood centre on the lower slope of Grouse Mountain, about three blocks of mostly independent shops and cafés clustered around a small village green. It is the most pleasant pedestrian street on the North Shore — quiet, leafy, well-kept, full of dog walkers and parents pushing strollers.

The shops are essentially upmarket suburban — boutiques, kitchen-supply stores, a couple of small art galleries, the long-running Delany's coffee shop, and the locally famous Edgemont Village Coffeehouse. A small Saturday farmers' market in summer (May to October) brings in producers from across the lower mainland. The Capilano Suspension Bridge is a few kilometres south down Capilano Road and the Cleveland Dam is about the same distance north.

There is little to do here in the conventional tourist sense, but it makes a quiet half-hour stop on a North Shore drive, particularly if combined with the Capilano corridor.
