Mount Douglas Park, also called PKOLS, gives Victoria one of its best low-effort viewpoints. Trails climb through second-growth forest to a rocky summit where the view opens across Saanich, the Gulf Islands, and on clear days the Olympic Mountains.
The park also reaches the shoreline, so it can be a quick summit walk, a beach wander, or a longer loop through cedar and Douglas fir. It is especially useful for travellers with a car who want a natural break without committing to a full day outside the city.
