Victoria's compact downtown puts most of the headline sights within a short walk of the Inner Harbour. The Royal BC Museum, the Parliament Buildings, and the Empress Hotel sit shoulder to shoulder; Chinatown and the boutiques of Lower Johnson Street are a few blocks north. The biggest draw, Butchart Gardens, lies 20 km out toward the Saanich Peninsula and is well worth the trip.
