Ixpanpajul Natural Park is an easy nature break from Flores, set in Petén forest on the road out toward Guatemala City. Its best-known feature is the canopy route, where hanging bridges lift you into the trees and give a different perspective from the ruins-heavy days around Tikal.
This is managed adventure rather than wilderness: expect marked trails, zipline options, horseback riding, and family-friendly facilities. That makes it useful if you want birds, shade, and a bit of movement without organizing a major expedition into the Maya Biosphere Reserve.
