Kas di Pal'i Maishi is a restored 19th-century kunuku house in Dokterstuin. The small open-air museum explains how Afro-Curaçaoan families lived in the countryside after emancipation, using the cottage, household objects, music, food, and oral traditions rather than formal display cases.
Visits are most rewarding with one of the museum's interactive guides. Opening can be limited, so contact the museum before building a west-coast day around it.
