The best panoramic view in the park, at 1,669 metres on the Black Mountains. From here you can see the full length of Death Valley — Badwater Basin directly below, Telescope Peak rising 3,368 metres on the opposite side, and on a clear day the Sierra Nevada and even Mount Whitney. The drive up is steep and not recommended for RVs or vehicles with trailers. Go at sunrise if you can manage it; the valley fills with pink and gold light while the basin is still in blue shadow.
