Salt Creek is one of Death Valley's stranger easy stops: a short, salty stream that appears from the desert and disappears back into it. A boardwalk lets you walk the fragile habitat without damaging it.
The reason to come is the pupfish. These small fish survived as ancient Lake Manly dried away, adapting to a harsh, salty creek where water and life both seem improbable.
