Ubehebe Crater

Ubehebe Crater is a large volcanic crater in the northern part of Death Valley National Park. Trails run around the rim and down into the crater, giving a close look at the dark volcanic layers and the scale of the blast.

The descent is much easier than the climb back out, and there is little shade. Bring water, avoid the hottest hours, and treat the rim walk as a real desert hike.
