Mosaic Canyon is a popular Death Valley hike through a narrow marble-walled canyon near Stovepipe Wells. The polished rock, breccia layers, and tight passages make the geology unusually visible, even on a short walk.
The first section gives a strong taste of the canyon without a long outing. Continuing farther requires scrambling over smooth rock and dry falls, so bring water, avoid heat, and turn around when the route stops feeling comfortable.
