A private, volunteer-run museum on Main Street that has built a remarkable collection of mission artefacts since opening in 1996 — Mercury control consoles, Apollo-era pressure suits, mission patches signed by the astronauts, recovered booster fragments, and a working flight-control console from one of the firing rooms. Smaller and far cheaper than the official Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, it is also less polished, which is part of its appeal.
The museum runs guided launch viewings on event days and is closely tied to local engineers and former NASA staff, many of whom volunteer as docents. Allow an hour or two. Closed Sundays and Mondays.
