Massive salvage-art playground in a former shoe factory

Address 701 N. 15th Street, St. Louis, MO
Opening Hours Wed–Fri 9am–5pm, Sat–Sun 10am–5pm

Not really a museum — more of an enormous, chaotic playground built from salvaged architectural fragments: old cranes, gargoyles, school buses perched on the roof, tunnels bored through the building, a ten-storey slide. Designed by artist Bob Cassilly in a former shoe factory, it works for kids and adults equally. Budget a few hours and expect to get dirty.
