George L. Coleman Sr. House

The 1916 home of zinc-mining tycoon George L. Coleman Sr., the man who built the Coleman Theatre, sits in a leafy residential district on the east side of Miami. The house is a substantial brick Prairie School design and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The house is privately owned and not open to the public, but it can be seen from the road and is a good stop on a self-guided drive around Miami's early-twentieth-century mining-money architecture.
