A 920-acre reservoir on Polecat Creek, about 11 miles southwest of Sapulpa, run by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Heyburn Lake was dammed in 1950 for flood control on the Arkansas River system; the surrounding park has campgrounds, a boat ramp, swimming beach, and trails through the post-oak and cross-timbers forest.
The lake is stocked with largemouth bass, white crappie, sand bass, and channel catfish — a steady fishing destination for the Tulsa metro and free of the crowds at the bigger reservoirs east of Tulsa. A small park entry fee for non-campers.
