Tee Pee Drive-In

A working drive-in movie theater on the old US-66 alignment west of downtown Sapulpa, opened in 1950 and the only surviving drive-in in eastern Oklahoma still on its original site. The screen tower is decorated with the painted tipi after which the theater is named — a piece of 1950s-style appropriation that the new ownership has preserved as an unambiguous piece of Route 66 history.

The Tee Pee runs Friday and Saturday nights from late spring through September, with a double feature of new releases and a small concession stand. Cash and card accepted. Park anywhere with a clear sight of the screen and tune the soundtrack on your car FM radio.
