Silver Falls Trail

Forest trail from Ohanapecosh to a powerful waterfall on Mount Rainier’s southeast side.

Silver Falls Trail is one of the most rewarding moderate walks from Ohanapecosh. The route follows forest and river scenery to a forceful waterfall where the water drops through a rocky chute, a good reminder that Mount Rainier is not only glaciers and alpine meadows.

The trail works well for visitors staying on the park's southeast side or anyone entering from Packwood. It is popular in summer, but the forest absorbs people better than the famous Paradise trails; wear proper shoes, keep children close near the falls, and check seasonal trail conditions with the park service.
