Kewaskum

Wisconsin village on Kettle Moraine's glacial hills, near Ice Age Trail forests and kettle lakes.

Kewaskum is a small village in Washington County, Wisconsin, sitting at the southern edge of Kettle Moraine State Forest. The surrounding landscape is a product of the last ice age — an undulating terrain of drumlins, kettle lakes, and glacially deposited hills that is unusually varied for the flat Midwest.

The area draws visitors for outdoor activities in the forest: hiking the Ice Age Trail (a National Scenic Trail that runs the length of Wisconsin's glacial moraine), swimming and fishing on the kettle lakes, and cross-country skiing in winter. The Northern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest is accessible from multiple trailheads near Kewaskum, and Lizard Mound county park sits a short drive south.

The village itself is small and serves primarily as a local services stop rather than a tourist destination. Most visitors are passing through en route to the forest or to larger towns in the region.
