The first of the long line of beaches that runs north from town, reached by a five-minute walk along the cliff path from Praia da Concha. Resende is a clean curve of sand backed by coconut palms, with surf gentler than the beaches further out but still big enough for beginner lessons.
A few barracas serve fish, bobó de camarão, and ice-cold beer. The walking path continues from the north end of the beach over the next headland to Tiririca — about ten minutes' easy walk — and several pousadas on this path face the sea with hammocks and cliff-edge gardens.
