Termas Los Pozones is a more rustic and affordable hot springs option than the famous Termas Geométricas, and for many travellers it is the more enjoyable experience. A series of natural rock pools step down the hillside, each at a slightly different temperature, with the river running alongside and the forest above. The setting is informal and the atmosphere sociable — this is where Pucón's backpacking crowd tends to end up.
The complex is about 35 kilometres from Pucón on the road toward Coñaripe. It is open until midnight, and visiting in the evening — under stars, in warm water, with cold night air above — is an experience worth planning around. Admission is around 10,000 Chilean pesos, considerably less than the designer alternatives. Towel rental is available.
