Los Yarumos is a forested urban park on the eastern edge of the city, with cloud-forest trails, canopy walkways, a zip-line, and a climbing wall. It is the closest in-town option for a walk in nature — the trails are well-maintained and the entry fee is modest.
The park is named for the yarumo trees (Cecropia) that grow along the trails — fast-growing pioneers with silver-backed leaves that flash white in the wind. Birding is good in the early morning; over 100 species have been recorded in the park.
