Post Street Mall is the busiest pedestrian street in central Windhoek — a wide flagstoned promenade lined with shops, fast-food spots, and a long open-air craft market. Wood carvings, ostrich-egg jewelry, beadwork, and printed cloth from across southern Africa fill the stalls; bargaining is part of the deal.
The Gibeon Meteorite display sits at the eastern end of the mall on raised plinths, and the small Owela Museum holds a few important pieces of Namibian natural history a couple of blocks away. A good morning's wander before retreating to a cafe.
