Batali Hill is one of the easiest ways to get above Chittagong's traffic and density. The climb is short but steep enough to feel earned, and from the top the city opens out toward the port, the Karnaphuli River, and the hazy hills beyond.
It is most rewarding in the late afternoon, when the heat softens and locals come up for air. The viewpoint is simple, but in a city where the street-level experience can be intense, that bit of height is useful.
