Ethnological Museum

Museum of the tribal peoples of southeastern Bangladesh

The Ethnological Museum at Agrabad covers the indigenous peoples of southeastern Bangladesh — the Chakma, Marma, Tripura, Mro and other groups of the Chittagong Hill Tracts. The displays include textiles, jewellery, musical instruments, weapons, ceremonial masks and life-size mannequins in traditional dress.

Useful background if you plan to travel into the Hill Tracts, where access is sometimes restricted and the cultural context can be hard to find on the ground. Closed Sundays.
