Xiangbin Temple, also called the Guanyin Monastery, is one of the smaller lamaseries in the Dazhao complex area and one of the best-preserved examples of Qing-period Tibetan-Chinese architectural fusion in Hohhot. The main hall's interior contains an unusual collection of minor deity statues arranged along the side walls in addition to the central Guanyin figure — a layout that reflects the syncretic nature of popular Buddhist practice in Inner Mongolia, where elements of Tibetan, Chinese, and Mongolian Buddhist traditions overlap without obvious tension.
The temple is significantly less visited than Dazhao and Xilituzhao, which makes it worth including on a slow morning walk through the old town. A small resident community maintains it and the courtyard garden is kept meticulously. The incense smoke from the central burner carries to the surrounding streets and makes it easy to find even without a map.
