The Leventis Municipal Museum tells the story of Nicosia from ancient settlement through the modern city. It is housed in a converted two-storey house and has exhibits ranging from archaeological material to maps, photographs, costumes, and objects from daily life.
The museum is central and compact enough to fit into an old-town walk. It is a good first stop if you want context for the divided city, its Venetian walls, and the neighbourhoods around Ledra Street.
