Nicosia Aqueduct

These remains of an Ottoman aqueduct are a quiet fragment of Nicosia's old water system. Built in the 18th century, the aqueduct once helped bring water from the mountains into the walled city.

It is not a major sight on its own, but it is a worthwhile pause if you are already walking the eastern side of old Nicosia near the walls. The stone arches give a practical piece of city history a visible shape.
