Likas Bay Promenade follows the waterfront north of central Kota Kinabalu, with long views across the bay and back toward the city mosque. It is used mostly by walkers, joggers, and cyclists, but it is also one of the easier places in town to get a broad sunset view without leaving the city.
The path is most useful once you are beyond the busier central waterfront. Look for the grassy stretches with palms, fitness stations, and picnic spots, and expect it to be livelier on weekends and during dragon boat events.
