The Kampung Baru Saturday night market (Pasar Malam Kampung Baru) is one of the best places in KL to eat traditional Malay food at street prices. Stalls stretch along Jalan Raja Muda Musa from early evening, selling nasi kerabu, ayam percik, laksa, murtabak, kuih-muih, and fresh-cut fruits. It's a local institution that has been running for decades and remains largely unaffected by the city's gentrification around it.
The market is technically active on Saturday evenings, though nearby permanent stalls and restaurants on the same street operate most nights. The food is cheap (most dishes RM5–15), the atmosphere is lively and informal, and the contrast with the glass towers visible from every corner makes it one of KL's more memorable eating experiences. Kampung Baru LRT station is a five-minute walk.
