The Masjid India night market (pasar malam) runs on Saturday evenings along the streets around the mosque, filling several blocks with food stalls, clothing vendors, and household goods sellers. It's one of the largest and most atmospheric street markets in central KL, drawing a mix of neighbourhood residents and visitors from across the city. The food side is the main draw: murtabak (stuffed pancakes), nasi briyani, tandoori, kuih, fresh sugarcane juice, and various Indian Muslim dishes.
The atmosphere is hectic and colourful — vendors calling out, cooking smells, and the sounds of the neighbourhood all at once. Get there by 7 pm to beat the crowds, or after 9 pm when things thin out but food is cheaper. Masjid India LRT station is at the northern end of the market.
