Puerto Princesa Cathedral

The Immaculate Conception Cathedral, two blocks back from the waterfront on Rizal Avenue, is the seat of the Apostolic Vicariate of Puerto Princesa and the oldest substantial building in the city. The current church is a 1961 rebuild of an earlier Spanish-era structure destroyed in the war; its blue-and-white painted facade and twin bell towers are a recognisable landmark.

The interior is plain and airy, with a few stained-glass windows commemorating the wartime martyrs of Plaza Cuartel next door. Open all day for prayer; Mass on Sundays at the usual Philippine times.
