The Taipei Dome (the 'Big Egg') is Taiwan's largest enclosed arena, a 40,000-seat domed stadium that finally opened in 2023 after two decades of delays and controversy on the site of an old tobacco factory. It is the home of major baseball games — Taiwan's national sport — and the venue for the biggest touring concerts.
It rises beside the Songshan Cultural Park and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, and unless there is an event the draw is mainly the scale of the structure and the adjoining shopping and cinema complex.
