Amasya Archaeology Museum

Amasya Archaeology Museum gives useful depth to the city around it, with finds from Hittite, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk, and Ottoman periods. The highlights are the Hittite statuette of Amasya, mosaics, the tomb of Sultan Mesud I in the garden, and the naturally air-dried mummies from the Mongol period.

Signage is in Turkish and English, so it works well as a first stop before climbing to the tombs and castle above the river.
