Linh Phước is the most visually spectacular pagoda in Dalat, located in the Trại Mát suburb about 8km from the city centre. Built in 1949 and heavily decorated over subsequent decades, every surface is encrusted with mosaics made from broken ceramic and glass: the 49m tower, the main hall walls, and most dramatically, a 49m dragon that coils down the staircase outside, its body made from over 12,000 beer bottles. The main hall houses a large gilded Buddha and the pagoda remains an active place of worship. The antique train from Da Lat station stops at Trại Mát, making it possible to arrive by rail.
