Protected Botany Bay wetlands with migratory birds and mangrove views near Kurnell

Towra Point protects a wide stretch of mangroves, saltmarsh, and tidal flats on Botany Bay. Much of the reserve is closed to casual access, but roadside viewpoints off Captain Cook Drive give birdwatchers a reason to pause on the way to Kurnell. Bring binoculars between November and March, when migratory shorebirds such as the eastern curlew pass through.
