The provincial museum covers Carinthian history, natural history, and art across two adjacent buildings. The Roman collection is especially strong — Carinthia was a key province of the Roman Empire and the finds from Virunum and Magdalensberg are substantial. The natural history wing covers Alpine geology, flora, and fauna with old-fashioned thoroughness.
