The Bishop's Residence is one of Linz's main Baroque secular buildings. It was built between 1721 and 1726 for Kremsmünster Monastery, with work linked to architect Jakob Prandtauer, better known for major Austrian monastery projects.
The building is mainly a stop for architecture-minded visitors. Look for the lattice gate on the staircase, made by Valentin Hoffmann in 1727.
