St Martin's Church

St Martin's Church is one of Linz's oldest and most important buildings, first documented in 799 and often described as the oldest surviving church in Austria. Its walls include reused Roman stonework, and later Romanesque and Gothic changes are still visible in the fabric of the building.

The interior is usually viewed through a glass door unless you join a guided visit, but even from outside it is a strong stop for anyone interested in early medieval Austria.
