The small Church of St. Sebastian in the old town has an interior that functions as a memorial to local soldiers killed in Croatia's Homeland War of the 1990s. The contrast between the medieval architecture of the exterior and the contemporary memorial inside is striking. Photographs, names, and personal effects of the fallen are displayed along the walls, making this one of the more quietly moving places in Trogir.
The church faces onto Trogir's main square, where the loggia and the clock tower that adjoins the cathedral provide more conventional sightseeing. The square itself — Gradski Trg — is the social heart of the old town, lined with cafes and tables from morning to late evening.
