Rødby is a small market town on Lolland's south coast, best known as the Danish terminus of the Rødby–Puttgarden ferry crossing to Germany. The town itself is quiet and functional; the ferry terminal sits 3 km south in the separate harbour district of Rødbyhavn. Rødby is also the Danish end of the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link — a 18-kilometre tunnel under construction that will connect Denmark to Germany by rail and road, due to open in the late 2020s.
