A small square just off Rue Colbert, sloping gently down towards the Loire. Less famous than Place Plumereau but arguably more architecturally interesting — three sides are lined with handsome 16th- and 17th-century stone townhouses, with one extraordinary 15th-century half-timbered building at the south corner.
The square hosted the royal trade fair in the late Middle Ages, hence the name. Today it is a quiet residential corner with one or two restaurants on the west side. Walk through it on the way between Rue Colbert and the river.
